According to the statement made by the Council, Health Tourism Council President Ahmet Savaşan stated that EMITT, which is among the five largest tourism fairs in the world, offers business development, new business and cooperation opportunities for Northern Cyprus in the international arena; holiday, outdoor tourism destinations, hotels, tourism centers, tour operators and agencies, and said that the TRNC made a difference with its health tourism products.
Stating that the Ministry of Tourism and Environment set up a successful stand reflecting the culture of Northern Cyprus, Savaşan said that the interest shown by both exhibitors and visitors to the stand raised expectations for 2017. Savaşan also said that Turkish Minister of Culture and Tourism Nabi Avcı and Secretary General of the United Nations Tourism Organization Taleb D. Rifai, who visited the stand accompanied by Minister of Tourism and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu, showed special interest in TRNC universities, agencies, hotels and hospitals, which encouraged the sector.
Stating that they came together with many country representatives and tourism professionals, especially from Germany, Azerbaijan, United Arab Emirates, South Africa, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Russian Federation, Ukraine, Jordan, Savaşan said that they signed new agreements to send tourist patients to Northern Cyprus, especially in the fields of third age and IVF for 2017.
